Probably works well but...

The KVM probably works pretty well and does it’s job, but be warned it comes without any KVM cables so you can’t set it up! I found this to be really annoying as there is no mention of the lack of cables when ordering. The item description also says there are two USB extension cables (which I assumed to be the KVM cables) but these aren’t in the box either. All you get is the KVM switch and the power adapter, nothing else at all.

The whole unit works our pretty expensive for what it does as the KVM cables are around £9 each. I’m sure the unit will work fine once the cables come, but a little bit of pre-warning that no cables are provided would have been a great use...hence why I’ve given this item a low score.

its a bit complicated but worth it

i got this for my home network, using it on xp pro on family computer connected by cable and laptop and computer by wireless

to set up make sure you know what ports to activate etc, and a basic knowledge of ip addresses, assigning specific ones to computers by network connections--->adaptor properties-->tcp/ip advanced....

also i was wonder why i was getting low id connections to emule etc for p2p, it is because you dont just activate the ports, you name the computers and the ports in the virtual server settings, then it sorts things out nicely

using the hardware firewall provided along with f-secure, has made my computer into a fortress, and as long as you dont just accept anything you dont know on your computer and dont use IE, you wont have any problems

Don’t buy for computer headset linking

I went for this bluetooth adapter over the D-Link one mainly on asthetics. It turns out I made abad choice.

The device was easy to use on Mac OS X - just plug in and use.... but it is not compatable with headset usage on the computer. So the discription text is incorrect - this device does not work with every bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2 compliant device.

Great Product, Poor Delivery

Great product (I use it with my MacBook) but the SuperSaver delivery was poor; took over a week to arrive. If you're not happy waiting that long, do yourself a favour and spend the extra money to get a decent delivery time.

Are you planing on using it for a Mac and an XBOX 360?

I thought this product will answer all my problems with to many monitors to many keyboards. Which it does to a certain extent.

Sometimes the problems outlined below do not happen, but most of the time they do.

Problem 1. the Xbox 360, when connected to the device, although you can see the picture, the XBox360 puts itself in demo mode, meaning you can't change profile details, you can't save in some games, you can't go back to the dashboard by pressing the middle green button, you can't turn the machine/joysticks off without getting up and doing it manually, the biggest problem is the fact you can not sign out your profile and into another. I must say that occasionally (1 in every 20 turn on's) it does not do this, and is very annoying.

Problem 2. A minor problem, the mac does not recognise the monitor, this makes it annoying when trying to change the resolution, and when the Mac should use the monitor colour pre-sets.

Problem 3. Sometimes the wireless remote does not work, and the unit has to be reset, to do so you have to remove the power to the unit, by unplugging the USB ports and plugging them back in. This is a problem if they are in a hard to reach area, and the unit is tucked away, because it is wireless. This only happens on the odd occasion, about once a week.

The idea is great, and it saves a lot of time fiddling with cables, however when you want to use more advanced features of the 360 or Mac most of the time it disables them. I therefore recommend if your looking to use this product for an XBox 360 steer clear, however If you have two PC's then this product is perfect, and faultless.

Right spec, wrong cable.... My benefit.

I ordered the above as it was the best price for the basic USB A/B I was looking for, at the time. Didn't need high end or fancy.

What I got was more like"Belkin PRO Series Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Device Cable - USB cable - 4 PIN USB Type A (M) - 4 PIN USB Type B (M) - 4.8 m (USB / Hi-Speed USB)" which is also available via Amazon here. Practical difference? Not a lot, if any.

The one I got (search the above for an illustration) looks better and feels more robust than the plain thin black one. It looks a few (10 or so) CM shorter than advertised, but I only needed 3-3.5M anyway.

Considering that either a) the illustration listed is wrong or b) I was sent the wrong cable, this review *may* not be accurate. But, I am pleased with what I received and it does what I ordered it for.

Simply brillent

Great Belkin product with a lifetime guarentee.

Silver braided cable with blue LEDs in either end USB connectors. Excellent to see if a device is connected and operational on a system from a distance.

USB A to USB B cable that gives a clear indiation that a printer or scanner is connected and gives a great gamer and eligant style to which usually a dull piece of equipment.

A style and pratical bargin at £[...].

Wrong cable

This item is not the one pictured it is the standard Belkin USB 2.0 Device Cable, as opposed to the Signature Series cable pictured. Not the kind of mistake one expects from Amazon.

Diappointment

When I opened the lid for the connecting cable one hinge came out of its support.Than pluged it to my Vaio laptop and connected the mouse.
It did not work! No luck with Plug and Play. It wil go back to the supplier.
