Useless

No driver comes with it and it comes up with 'unrecognised device' when plugged into the computer. Basically a useless adapter. Do not purchase.

Good delivery is the only positive, very fast.

Good Idea, but missed a trick

Great to finally have a product that allows you to connect usb devices to network.

Pro: Devices work as if connected to pc,etc.

Con: USB speed is not usb2 (480mbps), but Ethernet 100 mbps therefore 1 fifth of speed. Should have used gigabit ethernet to have allowed USB for fully work.

I agree with other reviewer. Belkin have made this usb compatible, but forgot about the loss of speed. Nearly bought one and thought again when I checked the true usb speed. Will buy one if usb speed is true usb2.

Ok.. i know what i'm doing with these things lots of practice at home and work etc, but for everyone out there who isn't sure.. this could end in tears...

Its seems that Belkin in their infinite wisdom have supplied slightly dodgy drivers (version 1) for the wireless card(dongle) so...
SET UP ----

router - 2mins to set up very easy and so far works without any problems and issues so far ....

The wireless dongle.. OMG!!! - 2 hours!!
My advice is (if you buy it) go to the belkin website and download the version 4 drivers for the 7050 card (which is what you get in this pack) install that and it works very easily!!! I had to remove the registry keys that the Belkin software put there itself that were wrong!! I know you shouldn't have to do this, but the hardware works fine and most of the reviewers complains are due to this driver issue!
Thus - 4 stars .. 5 for the product -3 for the stupidity of Belkin! if you have understood the problem that i've had with the installation.. its quite a good router really!!!
If you have no clue and are completely new to routers DO NOT BUY if you have no one to help you!! Frustration and tears and ultimately sending it back to amazon await!

VERY POOR after sales service

The UPS does do an excellent job, but the reason why I have given it only a 1 star rating (would have preferred to give 0) is to warn buyers of Belkin's fraudulent attitude.
The product has a 3 year warranty, and if it fails within that period, Belkin will replace it. What they DO NOT tell you is that, at the end of the 3 year period from the original purchase date, is that the replacement unit is no longer under warranty, and your connected equipment is no longer protected.
My first one failed in 30 months, as did the replacement unit. So if it fails within the 3 year period , you better buy a new one instead of getting Belkin to replace it

Sometimes chooses a favourite computer to switch to

As per other reviews it keeps switching back to one of the other PCs. It worked fine yesterday when I installed it, but today it switches to one PC for about 2 seconds, then decides to switch back. Tried restarting both PCs but to no avail.

I called Belkin support. Apparently it needs some sort of synchronisation during PC boot up. You are supposed to connect 1 PC and boot up, then connect the other PC and boot up. I switched both my PCs on the same time this morning so maybe thats it. I will try one at a time next time.

So its an average of 3: 5 for an excellent piece of kit, and 1 for the fact it stopped working after a day, but I got it working again. So 3 average.

Printer Switching for the 21st Century.

Remember those bulky boxes with clunky switches from the 80's?

Well, this handy, easy to use device is the modern equivalent. I set it up in less than 5 minutes. Both my PC's can now print from the same printer... Great!

The 'virtual' switch is operated from the desktop of the PC you wish to print from.

Indispensible if your power supply is dodgy

We're having constant supply problems at the moment with builders regularly causing the"trip" to activate and cutting off all supply to the 13amp supply. This Belkin UPS has been a godsend, easy to install and set up, and completely reliable at shutting every thing down neatly and without any fuss even when I'm not there so that when you start up again it is just as though I had switched off the computer myself in a orderly fashion. I am very impressed and pleased.

Excellent hub, works fine with my PCs

Suprised to see the various negativbe reviews below, certainly not my experience.

I've used this for maybe 2 years on machines running both 2000 and XP. Installs itself without problems, and all works fine once there. Nice solid bit of kit, and with power supply.

The 2 upright sockets are handy for cameras etc. i've 4 or 5 things plugged into the back and am alsways sticking things in and out of the top sockets.

I don't think its ever caused me any problems at all.

works but not the best

im a student and my friend and i bought the same adapter about a year ago so that both our pcs could connect to the internet. Have been having the same problems as ultramum (see below!). works intermittently - sometimes it stays on for a few days but never longer. some days it dies completely and we just have to wait for it to be detected and start working again. im pretty sure that compatibility with the router (netgear) is not the main problem. struggling to find adequate drivers. as the title of the posting says...

Belkin USB 1 4-port hub

This hub is not powerful enough to run my [1] ADSL modem, [2] Cannon low powered scanner, [3] Ezonics cam/webcam. It does make me wonder why Belkins bother to have a separate power supply.
