Review for Belkin FireWire 3-Port PCI Card - FireWire adapter - PCI - FireWire 800 - 3 ports:
Check compatibility
I bought one of these (not from Amazon) to find that they are PCI-64 cards, and wouldn't fit in my PC as the extended row of pins interfered with other board components. I have also read that if you don't put them in a PCI-64 slot, you only get Firewire 400 anyway. There is a Belkin PCI-1 card that would fit, but is much more expensive.31

I guess I am one of the lucky one's. No problems at all installing. I whipped the old USB 1.1 card out, sucked out the dust, and popped in the new Belkin USB 2.0, together with a new Sitecom USB 2.0 4 port front hub, switched on and 'bingo' Windows XP Home found both items right away. I then re-connected the USB's cables from HP printer, Epson scanner, and Pipex modem. Windows XP did its stuff again and I'm back in business.36

Review for Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub:
All this and many other little errors.
In short I have it working now after trial and error over which devices I can have plugged into it and which will work in conjunction with others but the product doesn't exactly do what expected or what it says on the tin.

Review for Belkin Hi-Speed USB 2.0 4-Port Hub:
Not great for certain devices.
Having only 3 USB ports on my laptop and 7 devices connected regularly I thought this would be ideal, however if I plug my wireless mouse into it and another port is being used eg. external hard drive. The mouse pointer becomes innacurate and moves in bursts. When writing data to the external drive, it frequently freezes which is doesn't if plugged into the computer directly. All this and many other little errors.
In short I have it working now after trial and error over which devices I can have plugged into it and which will work in conjunction with others but the product doesn't exactly do what expected or what it says on the tin.

More information for buyers!!!
I am sorry but I just don't recognize the problem the other reviewer had I found the cables entirely adequate for the job in hand. This product is great for adding connectivity to a mac mini as ,certainly for the early ones like mine, this is a weakness. One thing that is missing from the product overview but is in the instructions in the box is that if your mac mini is running USB 1.1 ports the extension ports will be limited to that too. The USB ports are soldered to the mother board on the mac mini so you cannot upgrade them to USB 2!
