small and perfect

After getting my pc replaced by D*** because their last one died on me after only 11 months ( but thats another story) I went to plug in all my printers etc and didn't have enough usb ports. I read the two reviews offered which were very helpful and decided to put my own penny worth in.
The little port sits very nicley on the back of my desk I have no difficulties with its weight, you just have to have it far enough on the desk surface. three ports come out of the back of it and because it has its own power source it means you can charge up your mp3 player without having your pc on. Just what I was looking for.

Perfect compatibility and Performance

Bought this originally to connect my 9800Pro and now have my x850xt graphics card connected to my IIyama dvi-d monitor. Excellent belkin performance and quality. Highly reccomended

Failed to protect anything

I have had a couple of Belkin units, including this one, fail to protect my equipment. Once a PC just died one day, and I found burn marks on the motherboard PSU connector. The other time with this exact unit there was a lightning strike nearby, and the computer PSU was fried along with my monitor and HiFi amplifier.

Both times I tried to claim from Belkin on their warranty. They make it very hard, and you have to send them the damaged equipment. In both cases they at first refused to pay up, but eventually I got some compensation out of them. Nothing like the value of the items though, only their"second hand" value which for Belkin means car boot sale prices.

I now have a Tripp-Lite and touch wood have no had any problems.

Easy setup, reliable operation, fast connection

I have had one of these working with connection to a router for about a month now. It connects at about 270Mbps through walls and ceilings, and currently to a not very well positioned router - it is in the corner of a room, about 2.5 - 3m below the height of the adapter, and normally this can cause problems, but I have had none. Set-up was also very easy.

Excellent piece of kit.

It certainly makes typing more comfortable, as you rest your wrists/arms on it, rather than them hovering above the keyboard. Just the right amount of softness.

ordereed it and my account said that it was going to be dispatched on one date and it did and it said it was going to come on that date which it did. great delivery. the product itself is great. exelllent condition and works perfectly. just a fantastic product allround. worth buying if you need a long cable because you know Belkin wont let you down.

I sat in all morning eagerly awaiting my new Hub. I had tidied up the cables and planned where everything should go. When the hub arrived, though, I was rather disappointed. It was wired with a 2 pin plug and not the UK 3 pin I was expecting. I now have to live with an adapter sticking out of my wall, which isn’t the end of the world, but wasn’t what I would have chosen. The Hub does work well and I can use the first 4 ports without the power adapter so all is not lost. I would have chosen a different product if I had known about the plug though.

Fantastic

I hate networking with a burning passion and have had a nightmarish experience with my netgear router. This belkin router I just followed the instructions and within 5 minutes I had all 5 of the devices in my house online.

The reason it does not get 5 stars:
After you setup the router you have to log on to the router to set up the security on the network, I think loads of people forget to do this and that is why there are so many unsecured connections around. The security bit should really be part of setup.

worth the money

If you like me, are a little clumsey, but like to look after your things ,the hard case is a must.It has earned it's keep several times already.The other anvantage I found was if anything was going to scatch it was the case and the case is a lot cheaper to replace...

Suberb!

Just arrived today. I had my laptop downstairs right by the phone socket but wanted it upstairs. I’d heard that having an extension could decrease your connection speed. My average connection speed by the phone was 6.9mb.

So I was a little nervous about getting a cable this long - but the price was right - so I gave it a go.

And I’m glad I did - I’m now upstairs, plugged in and surfing the net at a rate of 7.0mb!

What a a bargain piece of equipment.

More than happy

Just got new screens for my Mac and though I’d try out a DVI cable. Can’t fault this one - the colours are vibrant and its at least a third as cheap as any other cable of this length I could find in the shops. It really does make a difference to the monitor.
Just be careful you get the right one - there is a difference between DVI-I and DVI-D so check your monitor/PC instructions to be sure.

Great Product!

I've Been playing videos on my Pc and watching them on my Tv for a long time now using the video out connection on my Nvidia Mx420 card, but suffered severe colour saturation on the Tv image. I used the colour controls on the card to balance out the excessive red saturation, anybody with this card will know what a pain that is!
I read the reviews on this product and wary that some people commented on only getting black and white images when using using this cable with the provided scart connecter decided it was worth the risk anyhow.

What a difference! This product works!
I connected it to the provided scart, plugged it into the sky plus box and voila! my Pc desktop appeared on the Tv screen. In colour!
Inspired I rolled on fired up Windows media player 11, played a random video and watched in crystal clear glorious colour a DIVX movie!
If you buy this product you will notice staight away the massive improvement over video out I promise.

The reason why I got this cable was so my daughter could watch networked videos through her Compaq laptop on her tv (even though her laptop is widecreen. There's no pleasing some people!) When I've tested networked laptop I'll add to this review.

Lastly. Like I said I used to use the video out only because I had split the lead to enable me to watch films from the Pc in the living room and bedroom.
Now I'm gonna have to find a s-video cable splitter/router coz ain't no way I'm going back to video out.

Linux - This works well.

I have Linspire a type of Linux on my machines - works very well.

A number of other people’s problems may be due to failures in Windows not Belkin.
Installation easy and works well.

Easy peasy

I had my doubts as to whether or not to order this as it dosn't make it clear that this is a mains power device which was what I wanted.
I plugged it in it connected straight away,it has a nice solid feel the 4 grn LCDs only illuminate when in use so its easy to see if your periferals are connected. I have always found Belkin good.

The perfect accompliment

I received the palm z22 as a xmas present and this leather case is the icing on the cake. it is a perfect fit and is small and compact. it also came with a belt clip which is an added bonus.

Hit and Miss

There are loads of products like this now, but a year or so ago this was one of the few available. So I bought one. Lasted a day or two until a police car overtook me on the motorway and there was a loud bang. Thankfully no damage to the iPod but the Tunecast never worked again. No idea why. So I bought another one. What I've found is that sometimes it works really well and other times it doesn't work well at all. Have tried lots of different fixes... Being the only person in the car seems to help (again, no idea why) as does having the iPod on my lap. Even when it's working, though, I generally have to keep tuning to different frequencies because Radio 2 repeatedly elbows my tunes out of the way. Frustrating. One day I'll buy a car stereo that allows me to plug the iPod in, but for now this will have to do.

Very fast connection but ...

IF YOU HAVE VISTA, DOWNLOAD THIS THING'S DRIVERS FROM BELKIN'S WEBSITE! This needs to be shouted because the device only ships with drivers for older versions of windows which don't work correctly with Vista. I spent many hours trying to figure out why my adapter wasn't detecting the router or could only get local connectivity (no internet).

Once I downloaded and installed the drivers everything worked perfectly, though for some bizarre reason it also installs a popular shareware video-capture program too (which I already had anyway).

The connection is very fast and I'm not noticing any depreciation of speed over my cable modem, which is impressive.

A great device but they should either ship it with Vista drivers or print very clearly on the box that you need to download them from Belkin's website.
