Easy peasy

I had my doubts as to whether or not to order this as it dosn't make it clear that this is a mains power device which was what I wanted.
I plugged it in it connected straight away,it has a nice solid feel the 4 grn LCDs only illuminate when in use so its easy to see if your periferals are connected. I have always found Belkin good.

Feel the quality

Nice holder for the touch, keeps it neat and tidy and easier to carry around. Don't like silicone skins as they pick up the dust but after spending so much on the ipod touch, and extra tenner wasn't going to hurt and I must say it was a tenner well spent. My friend has this in the pink which is also stunning.

Excellent value

It's very lightweight and can handle small laptops as well as 17" and larger sizes,infact I'm using the small side (you just flip it over if you want to use the larger surface area on the cushtop) for my Dell Vostro 17" laptop.The cover is washable and has a zip on one side so it can be removed for cleaning.

Usual Belkin lifetime warranty but what can go wrong with a product like this unless somehow you tear the fabric.

Cushtop is very handy for having your laptop on your bed or lap.

Excellent piece of kit.

It certainly makes typing more comfortable, as you rest your wrists/arms on it, rather than them hovering above the keyboard. Just the right amount of softness.

Very good and simple but problems with docking stations

Simple to setup and use. With Dell desktop there are no problems, however, the laptop will not recognise my wireless M/S mouse and keyboard unless I take it out of the docking station. Belkin support told me that most KVMs have problems with docking stations.

Seems to do the job fine.

I've owned a Belkin UPS previously, but is was killed by lightning - not so uninterruptable then! The Universal 1200VA claims to be protected from such nasties, so I yhought I'd give Belkin one more chance. I've had it a few months now, and it seems to be coping fine.

I live in rural England where power supplies are apallingly unreliable, so a UPS is practically essential. The Belkin was put to the test last night and it sucessfully kept my PowerMac Dual G4 up and running (including dual displays - 20" and 15") for the short duration of the power cut (around 5 to 10 minutes).

Installation was simple - just plug it in, plug your equipment into it and turn it on. Belkin have finally seen sense and the Universal range UK models now include 'proper' uk mains outlet sockets, rather than the IEC outputs which, of course, required special cables. Ok, the cables aren't exactly hard to obtain, but it made things just that bit more (un-necessarily) annoying! No such hassle with these units though - just plug your Mac (or PC) in with it's own cable!

I've only given the unit 4 stars because it is being used in a project recording studio and the unit has two small problems which may need to be taken into consideration in such environments: 1 - The unit permanently emits a low volume hum - not really noticeable over the noise of a Mac, but may be an issue to some users, if being used to provide power back-up to items which don't actually make any acoustic noise themselves (i.e. have no fans). 2 - The unit will cause humming if approached too closely with an electric guitar. No surprise really, given what is going on inside the box, but thought I'd mention it anyway.

A product that really works.

As with all Belkin products you receive top quality manufacture and goods that really work.
This 1 way surge cube is designed to plug straight into your mains socket and it has two neon lights that give a comforting glow indicating that you are being protected from electrical surge and that your electrical system is correctly earthed.

I use mine combined with Belkins four socket mains adapter which also has surge protection thus giving double the protection.

If you think im being over cautious then thing again because early last year i actually put the entire system to test during a electrical storm.
Really i should have closed my computer down long before there was any danger of overload but true to form the serge switch on the four way adapter cut in aswell as this excellent Serge Cube.

Belkin also provide a comprehensive insurance against damage to equipment whilst using their products aslong as you can prove their equipment was to blame which is not that easy but when you have seen these products actually do their job of cutting power safely to your equipment then really a claim on their insurance should not be needed.

I have several Belkin products in use in my system and every one of them feels well made and bulit to last.Their products are neither expensive nor complicated to use and my favorite is definately their extension lead sockets with built in surge protection.They are beautifully made out of above average quality plastics and depending where you buy them do not cost the earth and used with this clever Serge Cube will give you peace of mind in protecting expensive electrical equipment of all kinds.

Overall, very good

Over all this product is very good.
It comes with a power adapter that isn't mentioned in the specs which means that it can support higher draw accessories such as external HD's and cameras all plugged in at once.
The design is very attractive when compared to some of the other products on offer but one thing I would say is that it's too light. What I mean by this is that if you have it resting on the rear edge of a desk like I do to save space then the cables attached will try and pull the hub off of the back, it doesn't however because of the rubber feet but it ends up at a 20 odd degree angle; it could do with a chunk of metal in the front to give it some more mass.
All in all, very pleased and I would recommend.

Mac users beware

Using this on my Mac (G5 tower), I found that the connection would occasionally degrade to USB 1.1, making card imports painfully slow. Worse, within the last month, the unit has been unexpectedly dropping the connection for a few seconds at random, causing my keyboard and mouse to temporarily become unresponsive, and cards and connected USB devices to unexpectedly dismount. This behaviour has culminated in complete system crashes on several occasions.

I have now dumped this device and will be replacing it with a USB hub and separate card reader--from a different manufacturer, naturally.

VPN information

Although I did not buy this product from Amazon I wanted to share information in particular regarding this router and the usage of VPN. First of all, had no problems to setup the modem router and all went fine. With regards to connect to my company VPN is where I had some problems, in particular with regards to company drive mapping scripts (if you require those). After investigating and testing I found the problem that might be relevant even for other people with different routers. Previous Belkin routers had the MTU value going up to a max of 1500. E.g. the F5D7633 had the default MTU set to 1492. This router however has the MTU value set to 1454 and can only go to 1492. Although Belkin states in the router management view that the MTU should only be changed if the ISP indicates so, most ISP's don't state anything. Hence try to modify this value especially for VPN connections upwards. Mine works like a charm with MTU = 1492. Try as well websites such as speednet.test to check the impact on your down and upload speeds.

FYI amazon is the cheapest witht his router. I needed one right here right now and bought one in a local shop costed 100 pounds, but after a bit of negotiation came down to 85... which is still 20 more than amazon.

Don't judge a book by its cover...

Never has the proverb been more true than with this product. Unfortunately however, the phrase is meant negatively. The case fits the iPod perfectly, it looks good and protects the main body. However, that is the limit of its ability.
It's difficult to get on and off, a trivial thing but irritating none the less. And believe me, you're going to be removing it as soon as the iPod no longer needs the"protection". As mentioned in previous reviews, there are problems with operating the wheel. In many cases best described as"a complete impossibility to operate". One can only imagine what went throught the designer's head as he covered the iPod's wheel, perhaps"what is the best way to inconvinience the customer?" For all its good looks, it cannot make up for the sheer impracticality and uselessness of the wheel cover, for what is the point of the sleeve if you cannot use the product contained within?
On another note, the sleeve also affords absolutely no protection to the screen. Why any producer would ever believe the wheel is more delicate than the iPod's screen is beyond me.
My suggestion is that you look elsewhere for a more practical container for your iPod, as this certainly isn't the one to buy.

It's quite good...

I have a 8gb iPod Touch and this case which I bought at Carphone Warehouse (and paid £25 for!!!).
So, since no-one has shared their thoughts yet, I figured i'd help you out.

The case looks good - it is made from a thick black leather with cream/white stitching around the sides. The bottom dips down so the Menu button can be reached, and has a gap at the top and bottom to fit the USB wire in, and the headphones, and a space at the top for the power/ standby button.
You also get a thin plastic screen cover that protects the iPod from being scratched on the glass front, however, put this on carefully, because mine is slightly wonky, and I haven't figured out how to, or even if I can remove it.

My only problem with the case is the fact that because it covers the back, it also covers the light sensor, which means that the Auto-brightness feature is unable to work, but this can be changed in the iPod Settings, by setting it at an unchanging level.

Overall, the case is a good, smart-looking protector for the iPod Touch.

doesnt work at all

I have a Renault Megane 2002. my wife wants to listen to her ipod during long commute journeys, hence the purchase of this produce. We have tried, neighbour has tried, work colleagues have tried to make the apperently simple operation work, without success. No FM channel is found.

Excellent

Just started using this little device on a laptop. Excellent piece of kit and far easier to use than the built in touchpad pointing device. Just plug it into a usb port and away you go.
As has been already mentioned the cable spooling facility is great and saves the tangle that inevitably happens when storing away in a laptop bag.
Smaller than a"conventional" mouse therefore takes a bit of getting used to, again mentioned in another review begins to cramp the fingers after prolonged use.
Recommended.

All Cabled Up

Brilliant cable, I use it at home to run a line from my network router through to my room upstairs. It's a neutral colour, slightly off-white-grey, and doesn't stick out against the wall, unless you have black walls that is ;).
The snagless design is very clever, I use it particularly on my Apple MacBook Pro, and constantly move around, which thanks to the great 15m length, is no problem at all!
Also this cable is technically futureproofed by being Cat 5e, if your inputs require Cat 5, do not worry, this is backwards compatible.
Overall, great cable at a great price, would not recommend anything higher than this cable without serious thought!

Does what is says.

I ordered this card and it was delivered in two days using standard delivery costs. Amazon, as usual, did as they said and better. Their prices beat any on the web for the same unit.
The unit its self did what it said it would and is a great buy.
