simply, for 40 or so quid you cant go wrong, nice cradel for ipod, good sound quality no wires or having do dril dash board e.t.c. would give it 5 but the overall volume could be higher, especially for base hungry tracks! but as above worth the money, and no c.ds, or need to burn those tracks!

If you value your computers, then get this!

Most people here have said it all. As an IT person, I cannot stress enough the importance of surge suppresors in conjunction with computing equipment. Computer components are very susceptible to electricity fluctuations or surges, and one too many will fry the internal components, rendering your computer a very expensive paperweight! Save yourself the hassle and get this: a simple, straightforward, wallet friendly solution.

Ordered this Dec 31, and got it Jan 4th! As always, Amazon delivers! Kudos to Amazon on this. One of the reasons why I keep on coming back and getting stuff, as they are very reliable.

Nice case with a few minor niggles

As the name suggests, this is a leather case from Belkin made specifically for the iPod Touch. Measuring 7cm wide, 11.5cm in height and a little over 1.5cm in depth, the folio opens to the left, allowing you to simply slide the iPod in and the folio holds it securely whilst still allowing access to the front controls. You can also get to the power button, as well as the headphone and USB ports on the bottom, although you might have to move your iPod around slightly to get them to line up properly. However the light sensor is covered by the top part of the folio, so you can't use the iPod's ability to lighten and darken the screen as the ambient light changes. It seems like a simple job to make a hole in the case to allow the sensor to work, if this is an issue for you.

As another reviewer mentioned, what the pictures don't show you is the velcro fastener on the side, which is attached at the front of the case and seals on the back. Whilst it is nice to have a fastener to help keep the case closed and your iPod safe, it does ruin the form factor somewhat and also stops the case from sitting flat; a small inconvenience perhaps. Allowing access to the iPod ports, even when the folio is closed, means that the top and bottom of the iPod is exposed at all times, so don't think of this as an all-weather protector, more of a way of keeping your gadget baby safe from knocks.

With the folio you also get a plastic screen protector that sticks over the iPod screen, although I have found this to be largely unnecessary as the folio is soft-lined and this does a pretty good job of protecting the screen. You don't get a belt clip and unfortunately the case is a little too thick to fit into the holder I got with my 3rd-gen iPod, although removing the front flap might help. In all other respects it looks like it might fit, so if you have the same idea Belkin's leather sleeve looks like it might be a better choice, just don't quote me on that.

So, apart from the lack of a belt clip and the annoying velcro fastener, this is a good and sturdy way of holding your iPod. A few minor tweaks and this would be arguably the best iPod case around - something for a version 2, perhaps?

Make A Decision

I agonised over buying the Belkin Tunebase. As many really negative reviews as positive. However the constant reductions in price swung it and I made the decision. Wow what a product. It took longer to unpack than set up and worked perfectly first time. As opposed to many reviews I found it to be a sturdy piece of kit. I think I would find it difficult to break it. If you are undecided, don't be, well worth the money!!

Fix for troublesome drivers

This product is desperatly let down by its drivers(any except a clean PC at it will fail to install with the orginal installation routine)

Latest driver

Download the latest driver on another Pc if possible
copy the installation file over to the hard drive

right click on the Exe file and select open with winzip or winrar
you will now get the contents of the exe file

click on files icon , followed by cliking on the folder called driver

Extract all files in the driver folder somewhere where you can find it

plug in the USB key and windows will pop up the question to find the drivers for you, select the location where you saved the files and it will install the driver

Great value for money

Having borrowed the Griffin version of the itrip for a trial from a friend I was very dissapointed in the constant interference in my car.

I decided to try this Belkin one to use in a hire car. I wasn't expecting too much but was very suprised how good it sounds when tuned in.

It's not as crisp as using a hard wired connection but is easily as good as radio signals in my car.

All in all great value for money. A pleasant suprise.

Nice product - Poor design

This cover was purchased to protect my Nano when connected to my car radio using the iPod charging and connecting cable. Subsequently the Nano just lies in the console well with all the clutter getting scratched. It is impossible to use the cover and charge the iPod at the same time. It is well made and looks good but with a little more thought could have been a perfect cover. Nowhere in the product description did it allude to the iPod cable access being covered.

Best Case For Your iPod Classic

I've been looking at cases for quite some time and been disappointed by the plastic skin cases you often see for iPods. My biggest issue in my hunt however was that every iPod model is slightly different in size and manufacturers were slow at getting iPod Classic sized ones out.

The Belkin case ended up as my choice and it fits the fatter 160GB iPod perfectly. The opening is elasticated (and coloured to match), so I imagine it also fits the thinner 80GB version well too.

The case is a nice leather, but smooth on the outside bar the impressed motif in the corner. On the inside of the cover you see the traditional, soft back of the leather. With some irony there's also a tailoring label giving the impression Belkin has been a fine purveyor of leather goods since the 80s; it's a nice touch, but also made me laugh as Belkin products have a erratic reputation for quality.

The front cover folds over and attaches to the rear using a recessed Velcro patch; when closed only leather can be seen. That's no belt clip, but why would you want to ruin a chic case with one of those?

At the bottom and top of the case the hold, audio and connector are accessible. You can sync without removing the iPod. The leather that wraps the iPod gives a protective recess to these connection points.

My only annoyance with this case is a plastic screen protector stitched into the leather pocket the iPod fits into. It seems wholly unnecessary. Mine has been stitched in with a slight bow, meaning it won't sit flush with the iPod screen. In theory I could cut it out and not effect the rigidity of the pocket; guess what, I'm tempted to do so as the front flap is enough to protect the screen.

So, as you can guess, I like this case. I was worried that it might be as poor as others I'd seen. It wasn't.

Solid Little Case

Excellent. Solid clear plastic case which covers the entire nano (except for a slit at the bottom for the headphone socket, docking port and lock button). The case completely covers the screen and also covers the click-wheel (which can still be operated through the thinner plastic). It comes in two halves which click together and never need to be removed again. I always preferred the soft silicon cases until my son bought this. Recommended.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that it does add a little bulk to an otherwise tiny ipod - still, better than getting it scratched.
I bought mine from Currys in town - Don't forget that if you buy from these Marketplace sellers you'll be paying another £5.00ish for postage.

Not worth bothering with - I'm back here to look for an alternative...

I bought one of these a while ago and have just got round to trying it out. The signal to noise ratio is dire even under"test" conditions - in the car in the garage or even in the living room via a hi-fi. It's a pity because you can hear that the underlying quality of sound is there, but with the level of noise (hiss) that you get on top, personally I couldn't live with it for more than 30 seconds. So here I am looking for something much, much better (hopefully).

Great cheap cooler!!

I bought this item because my laptop kept overheating and died almost every hour whilst I was trying to write a dissertation!! This stand was perfect. Its not too noisy (my laptop is louder!) and at the back of the stand there is a fold out leg that makes it slightly slanted to make it easier to type on a desk, but a bit uncomfortable on your lap but you can fold it away and it makes it perfect to work on your lap with which I couldn't do before!

Belkin N1 Vision

I have had this router for the past 2 weeks and below are my observations as compared to my previous DG834g router.

(after installing it, I upgraded to the new firmware 1.00.11)

+ve
- it looks stylish
- the front display is useful for quick information
- the guest ssid is a great idea
- i use it with a G card and the range / signal has improved as compared with my old Netger DG834g.
- over all some good features.

-ve
- the odd stand makes it VERY difficult to attach / stick it to the wall (as routers are always recommended to be kept at the highest part)
- it does not e-mail security logs
- the front main login page displays ALL your router information (all ip information, ssid, serial #,etc), meaning if you turn on remote management, anyone with your ip address and WITHOUT the password can still see your router configuration?!?!?!
- you can't assign dhcp ip addresses based upon mac address, meaning you need to hard code the ip address on the computer if you want it to retain it.
- some times you can't login to your router with the password, it then requires a reboot to fix that problem.
- its not compatible with firefox as it does not let you login with your password


my verdict...it might be an idea to stick with Netgear.

When it works it's fine, but....

I replaced a Zyxel modem router with this because it offered higher Wifi speeds. Using the same ADSL line I can confirm what other people seem to experience - it basically cannot keep a connection. It goes at most about a day before dropping out, my old Zyxel went for weeks. Even with"dial on demand" set I still have to pull out the plug to get it to reset and connect.

I've flashed to a pre-release firmware in the last couple of weeks but the connection problem remains. I've had previous issues with Belkin and I shouldn't have given this the benefit of the doubt.

Read this before you buy

If all you are doing is transferring the kids' homework, then fine. I use my laptop for work. The programme crashed 7 times, each time about 1 hour in, so it's a bit frustrating. Not as much as Belkin's call centre; so far out in the sticks of the Ganges delta that I had to apologise into the sounds on the phone after asking the first operative to repeat himself several times and hang up, to try again, so I could understand 1 word. I mean it, not 1 word was understood. 2nd call to the non-network option told me I needed the network option. 3rd call to the network option said I needed the non-network option. 4th call to the network option couldn't help. WHAT? CAN'T HELP? If you've got a problem, you're on your own - believe me. I'm going to do this with a stack of CDRs. Thanks for nothing, Belkin, you've made a toy, not a tool.

Very Good quality recording, but...

Excellently picks up all kinds of sounds, even faint ones; it's as good as if you were actually in the setting of recording. But unfortunately, because of proximity of the recorder to the ipod unit, it picks up noise made by the hard drive, including clicks, which are very obvious in the background throughout the recording. It can be annoying. The user manual does acknowledge this problem and suggests the use of another microphone adapter into the belkin socket. In that case you had rather buy another good stand alone recorder with a cable away from the ipod unit. The unit itself is great, except for this drawback, which can't be ignored.

Low signal?....no longer!

Ok, bought this from a local store, and once getting it home , thought""wow, a 30second setup",
but no, its not... After a 20min play about myself,i realised its beyond me.. (im cisco systems qualifed!)
Sooo i rang belkin, and was instantly told, i would be charger a standard local rate (from the uk)
The indian gentleman guided me through it all, and now its up and runing, my signal is increased from what was 2 bars, to a full set...
